Changes in the Classroom

This week we changed our literacy groups after viewing first quarter testing and observations over the last quarter.  We created another group we are calling the "otters."  The otters group is seperate from our rotations.  These students are working on more independent studies.  We have them in a book club and they are working on different assignments that go along with what the other students are doing, but at a level that will allow them to keep progressing.  We are going to make some other changes based off of this week, but it was really cool to see how the students interacted in their new groups and coming up with more challenging activities for our "otters."  This week we begin our Indian study so we won't have rotations, but we will return to them the following week.
